Textile artwork By Cindy Watkins
Freestyle stitched on silk and cotton with cotton thread.
This work is a large-scale textile artwork that is stitched on silk and cotton fabric with cotton thread. All my work is done freestyle on the sewing machine. The sewing machine is my pencil and brush.
I have featured a little sleeping wombat and a Blue wren, one of my favorite birds. The trees are Nothofagus gundii Australias only deciduous tree. It grows in the highland areas of Tasmania.
The work is stretched over a frame, ready to hang on your wall, signed, given a number and comes with a numbered certificate.
This series of work is part of my 5000 trees project.
41cm x123cm
Each work is unique. I do not use a computerized sewing machine.
I donate $2 for every tree stitched and sold to Landcare Tasmania.
